This spacious two bedroom apartment is situated inside a fully renovated 17th century merchant's house, that is contemporary yet still retains many of the building's original features. This apartment features wide oak doors, wooden ceiling beams, wooden floors and stucco ornaments. The living area is furnished in a more traditional fashion, with a sofa, armchairs and a coffee table, providing the perfect place to relax and enjoy the view out over the canal. The kitchen is modern and fully equipped with everything needed to prepare meals, including an oven, hob, a microwave, a fridge, a freezer, a dishwasher, a toaster and a coffee machine. This apartment is located within the Central Canal Belt, a World Heritage Site with stunning architecture and a unique atmosphere. The canal belt is one of the most beautiful areas of the city with the waterways lined with trees and beautiful buildings, home to bars, cafes, restaurants and shops. Walking the canals is an amazing experience and some of the Canal Houses such as the Van Loon Museum are open to the public and should be visited if you are interested in seeing how wealthy Dutch merchants lived during the Golden Age. If you are interested in Dutch beer, cafe 't Arendsnest is unique in the sense that it only sells beers brewed in the Netherlands and is just a short walk from the apartment. Also within walking distance is Dam Square, the centre of Old Amsterdam and home to the stunning Royal Palace, Madame Tussauds, The New Church and De Bijenkorf department store. The Jordaan is well known for its charming cafes, shops and restaurants and the Anne Frank House.
