This apartment is situated on the beautiful Prinsengracht Canal, one of the most picturesque canals in the city in the World Heritage Protected Amsterdam Central Canal Belt. After just a few minutes walking the canal you will understand why they are World Heritage listed, with the elegant canal houses dating back to the Dutch Golden Age. The Van Loon Museum and the Willet-Holthuysen Museum are two well preserved canal houses available to visit and worth doing so to get a glimpse of life for the wealthy Amsterdam residents during the Golden Age. Not far from the apartment is the Anne Frank Museum, a reminder of the atrocities suffered by the Jewish citizens of Europe during World War II. Just a short walk from the apartment is the Jordaan, a fashionable neighbourhood filled with trendy boutiques, bars, cafes and restaurants and a great place to get a coffee and a slice of the world famous Dutch Apple cake. Many of the city’s sights can be reached on foot, but for those places further afield, the area is well serviced by public transport.
