Boutique feel one bedroom apartment, for up to two people, in the Vondelpark area of Amsterdam, on walking distance from the Leidseplein and the Jordaan.
The original beam work and wooden floors create a warm, inviting atmosphere in this beautiful second floor apartment with views over the water. The spacious living area is amply furnished with a large double sofa-bed, an armchair and a flat screen TV with cable and DVD player. The modern kitchen area provides all the basics you need – with a microwave, double hob and fridge/freezer. The large wooden dining table offers seating for four guests. The tastefully decorated bedroom features a double bed, bedside tables and lamps. The bathroom is large and finished to a high standard, with a bath and shower. Amenities include high speed Wi-Fi, a hair dryer, fans, and you can even order fresh bread from a local bakery. Wake up in the morning to the whistling of birds in this authentic, intimate, well presented apartment, a true gem in the centre of the city. A baby cot can be requested and is free of charge.
The apartment, on the Jacob van Lennepkade, is perfectly situated on the edge of the trendy Jordaan district, with its eclectic collection of boutiques, cafés and restaurants. The apartment is a perfect base from which to explore the city (and its nightlife).
The Palace on Dam Square, the hectic Kalverstraat shopping street and the calm of the Vondel park are all only a short walk away. Visit the tempting Lindengracht food market on a Saturday morning, or walk round the corner to the farmers' market on the Noordermarkt. Also within easy walking distance are The “Negen straatjes” (9 streets), home to many of Amsterdam’s exciting smaller boutiques. Just a five-minute walk away is the Museumplein, home to the Van Gogh Museum, the newly reopened Stedelijk Museum of Modern Art and the Rijksmuseum with its collection of world renowned masterworks. Something for all tastes!
For those of you who want to venture a little further afield, hop on one of the many trams to take you across Amsterdam. The bus to and from Schiphol airport drops just around the corner, and the main train station, Central Station is also just a stone’s throw away.
